Asphalt Testing Project Outcomes

The Advanced Carbons Council has been running an ongoing testing project with the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) based at Auburn University. Following the “Superpave” protocols, eight (8) different forms of graphene have been tested head to head at a range of loadings in bitumen to measure the impact on key asphalt performance metrics, including stability, short and long term aging, thermal operating ranges and rutting performance.

Learn how different types and forms of graphene positively impact the performance of asphalt with major implications for improving the operating life of roadways, thereby reducing the costs and the environmental impacts.
