Lucideon Specialists on the Agenda for The Advanced Ceramics Show

Experts from materials science consultancy Lucideon will cover key industry topics, explore the benefits of collaboration and host a practical session for engineers, designers and materials specialists as part of the Advanced Ceramics Show next month.

The free CPD-accredited exhibition and conference for cutting-edge ceramics innovation features several speakers from Lucideon, including Chief Executive Tony Kinsella and Director of Programmes Dr Gilda Gasparini.

Lucideon will also be exhibiting at the two-day event, showcasing its world-leading capabilities in process optimisation and characterisation alongside research, implementation and scaling-up of novel materials technologies.

Richard Goodhead Chief Marketing Officer at Lucideon said: “The Advanced Ceramics Show is the ideal opportunity to share ideas and hear from colleagues across the industry on essential themes such as joint working, innovation, and sustainability.

“The Lucideon team is pleased to be part of a packed agenda across the two days and contribute to the debates and discussions that form such an important and insightful part of the show.”

The opening panel of the event will be chaired by Dr Cathryn Hickey, CEO at The AMRICC Centre, the pioneering open-access research facility for industrial scale product and process development, which is hosted and managed by Lucideon.

‘An industrialisation exemplar – The AMRICC Centre: showcasing how to do public:private partnerships right’ will explore the centre as a leading example of how public-private cooperation can bridge the gap between research, innovation, and manufacturing, enabling faster translation of advanced ceramics and materials technologies into industrial reality.

Later in the morning, the Ceramics Industry 4.0 Showcase: New Products & Services from the Midlands, will be chaired by Lucideon’s Dr Gasparini and Victoria Warren, Director of the AMRICC Academy.

The session will showcase the new products, smarter manufacturing processes, and capabilities and skills services delivered by the Midlands Advanced Ceramics for Industry 4.0 programme.

Developed collaboratively across industry and academia, these outputs are available now—giving ceramics businesses faster, lower risk routes from innovation to production, supported by skills, training, and a connected Midlands ecosystem.

In the afternoon, a fireside chat chaired by Tony Kinsella will bring together senior leaders from industry and research to explore how advanced ceramics can underpin national resilience, security, and competitiveness in an increasingly challenging global environment.

Drawing on real-world insight rather than formal presentations, the discussion will examine how collaboration across sectors can accelerate innovation, strengthen UK capability, and ensure long term industrial resilience.

Shortly after, Product Marketing Manager at Lucideon, Dr Aimee Jackson, will chair a panel session on Advanced Materials for Battery Pack Design.

A practical session for engineers, designers, and materials specialists working at the sharp end of electrification, the panel will examine which advanced materials are proving most effective in modern EV battery pack design, what testing and performance standards engineers should be applying, and how the industry is navigating the tension between high performance and the growing imperative to deliver more sustainable, recyclable solutions.

On the second day of the event, a panel focusing on the practical, real-world value of data science and computational techniques in advanced materials development and manufacturing will be chaired by Lucideon’s Defence and Nuclear Product Marketing Manager, Enya Collier supported by Dr Dominic Wadkin-Smith, Data Science – Business Development Manager at AMRICC.

‘IMPACTTM beyond the hype – tangible real-world benefits from the application of data science and computational techniques,’ will span applications from traditional ceramics manufacturing to advanced aerospace materials, highlighting how digital tools are already delivering measurable benefits across the materials lifecycle — from research and scale-up to system integration.
