Ceramics UK unveils its conference programme and exclusive speaker line up

Europe’s leading event for the ceramics materials industry, The Advanced Materials Show, has today released details of its conference programme for 2020 featuring exclusive insight and leading global speakers.

The two-track conference, taking place on the 2nd – 3rd December 2020 at the NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire (UK), is free-to-attend and will bring together a highly focused audience, all involved in the research, production, purchasing or integration of advanced materials technology. The conference has attracted leading experts from global brands to share exclusive knowledge and insight. Once again the show will feature the Ceramics UK conference and exhibition highlighting the latest innovations in ceramics and glass.

On day one (Wednesday 2nd December) the conference will open with its first keynote session, dedicated to the important issue of the commercial opportunities facing the sector. Track one will look at the customer and regulatory demand for advanced material innovation. Steven Harris, Head of External Partnerships & Programmes at BAE Systems and Sean Appleton, General Manager at 3M, are teaming up in a lively session to explore what the market and development landscape for advanced materials producers looks like.

On day two (Thursday 3rd December), the keynote session focuses in on the fast-growth nanomaterials market, which is expected to reach $55 billion by 2022. This unique session features no less than five expert speakers who will use case study examples in micro and nanomaterials to bring this exciting session to life. Moderated by Dr. Claire Skentelberry, Director General at the Nanotechnology Industries Association, four speakers from Cerion, Promethean Particles, University of Liverpool and OCSiAL will be taking a closer look at those nanomaterials that have managed to traverse the ‘valley of death’ from design to production, to see how and why they succeeded where so many have failed and what technical and business strategies were implemented.

Alex Oliver, Event Director of The Advanced Materials Show says “The release of this year’s conference programme is an exciting development as interest in the show grows week-on-week. We were astounded by the attendance and success of The Advanced Materials Show 2019 in its first year, and the calibre of speakers we have been able to attract as a result for 2020 really does cement the show’s reputation as the leading event for the latest insight and knowledge in the industry.”

It is a privilege to welcome the industry’s top thought-leaders from global brands such as 3M, BAE Systems and Cerion, and we are looking forward to the debate, knowledge-exchange and networking that is set to happen at the show this July”.

The Advanced Materials Show is of even greater importance to the material advancement industry this year as it will be co-located with the hugely anticipated Battery Cells & Systems Expo and Vehicle Electrification Expo and will offer unrivalled insight into current and future materials development, with experts from all sides of the industry in attendance.
