Dileezaa Lurthanathan is a highly experienced and accomplished professional with over 14 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She is currently the Head of Advanced Materials, Group Technology & Commercialization at PETRONAS, where she leads a team of experts in developing and commercializing new advanced materials technologies. Dileezaa’s career started in 2008 with PETRONAS Carigali, the main hydrocarbon exploration arm of PETRONAS where she played the role of Business Analyst and Development Planner. In the ensuing years, she worked in areas of project management and control, where she oversaw cost control of multiple PETRONAS projects. With her proven track record of success in project management and strategic planning, in 2018, she was appointed Head of Business Planning and Performance for Project Delivery. Dileezaa is skilled in incubating new business growth spaces, building strategic business cases to move them into venture build for corporate spin-ins. She is also passionate about exploring the processes, strategies, culture, and mechanisms that allow corporate spin-ins to succeed into profitable businesses, aligned with economic, social, and environmental impact. In 2022, she was entrusted to spearhead the venture building and growth Advanced Materials business, one of the new energy transition businesses of PETRONAS. In this space, she strives to utilize the “materials transition”; reducing reliance on traditional materials in favor of higher-performance and longer-lasting ones to lower our carbon footprints. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Technology PETRONAS. In 2023, she graduated from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Leadership Programme, held jointly with Yale University and IMD
