Dr. Dominic Wadkin-Snaith

PhD in Condensed matter theoretical physics from University of Birmingham, UK. Joined Solvay’s materials advanced materials research group. Here I worked in atomistic modelling of high-performance thermoplastics and thermosets for application to aerospace. The modelling focussed on predicting solubility of thermoplastics and reaction induced phase separation. My work broadened to include laboratory work such as, mechanical testing with IINSTRON, physical properties with DMTA, rheology, DSC. At University of Strathclyde, I worked on developing coarse grained models for crystal nucleation and growth in polymer thin films. Recently I joined materials consultancy Lucideon to lead their Data Science and Computational Modelling group.
