Dr Francesco Fanicchia PhD, CEng is Reader in Sustainable Surface Engineering at Cranfield University and Research Area Lead for Materials Systems in Demanding Environments (MS4DE) at the Henry Royce Institute. His expertise is in hydrogen, manufacturing of functional materials, surface engineering and sustainable manufacturing. Francesco is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and an associate member of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS). His research interest lies in coatings for extreme environments and hydrogen-material interaction for industrial decarbonisation. His clients include Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, UK Atomic Energy Authority and Zircotec Ltd.
