Watercycle Technologies is a sustainable mineral recovery company that span out from the University of Manchester. They design and build end-to-end mineral recovery and water treatment systems, targeting core applications of lithium battery recycling, lithium brine mining and desalination. The company has an international profile and manufactures their systems in the UK.

Dr Seb Leaper, CEO of Watercycle Technologies, founded the company while studying for a PhD in Nanoscience from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester. With a background in Materials Science and Engineering, Seb’s scientific and technological interests span advanced materials, critical minerals extraction and water purification. He has a desire to use this knowledge to make a positive impact and address global concerns around resource security and the transition to a circular economy.
