The Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group has expanded the reach of participation in its annual poster contest, taking place at the Advanced Ceramics Show next week.

Showcasing the latest innovations across the sector, the Alan McLelland Poster Competition has attracted entrants from across the UK, and this year also includes an entry from Ireland.
Focused on three themes: process innovation, product innovation and Ceramics 4.0 (Data and Modelling) the posters highlight the work of researchers and innovators working on advanced ceramics in academia and industry.
Dr Gilda Gasparini, of Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group, said: “This is the third year we have held the Poster Competition at the Advanced Ceramics Show and it has become an important part of our presence at the event.
“The contest aligns with MICG’s priority to support collaboration between universities, research institutes and businesses to further develop the advanced ceramics sector.
“It also supports our work to raise awareness of the importance of the sector, and develop meaningful opportunities for it to be promoted, as well as underpinning our goal of creating a collaborative environment to strengthen the sector’s innovation eco-system.”
The posters will be displayed on the MICG stand throughout The Advanced Ceramics Show on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th July. Prizes sponsored by MICG members will be presented for the winning projects.
Dr Gasparini added: “They will be judged by representatives from MICG member companies on the technical content, clarity of communication and industrial application awareness.
“We’d urge visitors to the Advanced Ceramics Show to come and look at the posters to get a snapshot of the exciting innovation and talent on display.”
