This presentation provides an overview of how HTMS IMC can be integrated into multi-material composite layups for use across demanding sectors, including defence, motorsport, automotive, and aerospace. It explains where HTMS IMC material systems sit and how they can be combined with conventional polymer composites to create application-specific solutions.
A key focus is the high-performance thermal resistance these materials can deliver when introduced into components exposed to elevated temperatures and repeated thermal cycling.
In addition, it highlights the potential increase in mechanical performance, such as improved flexural performance compared with a standalone traditional CMC. By comparing baseline properties and in-service behaviours, the presentation highlights the advantages that HTMS IMC multi-material systems can bring.
