MICG’s Poster Competition Set to Return to The Advanced Ceramics Show

A popular poster competition that creates networking opportunities for like-minded experts will be hosted for the third time by the Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group (MICG) this summer.

Researchers and innovators working on advanced ceramics in academia and industry can showcase their ideas at the Advanced Ceramics Show as part of the 2nd Alan McLelland Poster Competition.

The MICG-sponsored event invites entries on three themes: process innovation, product innovation and Ceramics 4.0 (Data and Modelling).

Dr Gilda Gasparini, of Midlands Industrial Ceramics Group, said: “MICG focuses on building a strong innovation focused network within the Ceramics and Advanced Ceramics sector across industry and academia.

“The poster competition has become an excellent feature of the sector work at the Advanced Ceramics Show and over the past two years we’ve had great feedback from both participants, judges and attendees, with further collaborations having developed from a first encounter enabled by this competition.

“Posters will be judged by representatives from MICG member companies on the technical content, clarity of communication and industrial application awareness, and we’re inviting researchers and innovators to start preparing their entries now.”

The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday 9th May. Poster acceptance confirmations will be issued on Friday 6th June and posters will be displayed on the MICG stand throughout The Advanced Ceramics Show on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th July.

Prizes sponsored by MICG members will be presented for the winning projects.
