Prof. Andrew Beale

Andy Beale is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at UCL, Group Leader at the Research Complex at Harwell, and Chief Scientific Officer and co-owner of Finden and Methanox Ltd. He is also deputy and proleptic director of the UK Catalysis Hub, a £12.5 M national initiative in catalysis research. His research focuses on functional materials including materials used in heterogeneous catalysis and energy storage, applying advanced X-ray scattering and spectroscopic techniques, notably under operando conditions. He earned his BSc at Sussex and PhD at the Royal Institution, later holding research positions at Utrecht University before joining UCL in 2013. He serves on multiple advisory and management boards in the UK and internationally.
